Komorebi
Handkerchiefs ObjectsLight dispels darkness, but shadow is born only in the presence of light.

Komorebi 木漏れ日 is Japanese for ‘sunlight streaming through tree leaves’. These handkerchiefs are printed with photograms of shadows cast by leaves on papers.

Recorded on March 16th, 2023 at 1:15 - 1:45 pm in Bangkok.

Under Bangkok’s summer sun, the fall of light and shadow on photographic papers served as a visual record of Komorebi. The images were first created through cyanotype printing on paper, then transferred onto fabric.

The generated text was then used as the drawing itself, with each sentence forming the objects it described. The work explores how artificial intelligence and human creativity can meet halfway.
